A long-term visa is issued for applicants who intend to stay in the Czech Republic for over 90 days for reasons such as employment, study, family reunification, etc. A long-term visa is issued for a maximum of 180 days and can be extended in the Czech Republic before it expires. The application can be submitted only at Czech consulate abroad.

 

Documents required for the visa application:

  • Passport
  • Two passport sized pictures
  • Completed visa application
  • Document confirming the purpose of the stay in the Czech Republic (varies depending on the visa type)
  • Proof of sufficient financial means during the stay
  • Document confirming the availability of accommodation for the period of stay in the Czech Republic
  • Extract from the criminal register, issued by the state whos national you are, as well as country where you stayed for more than 6 consecutive months in the last 3 years (not applicable for children under age of 15 years)
  • Medical report certifying that you do not suffer from a serious desease (if requested by the diplomatic mission)
  • Proof of travel medical insurance with the coverage at least 60 000 EUR, valid in the Czech Republic
