When EU nationals intend to stay in the Czech Republic for more than 30 days, registration with the local Foreign police department is required.

Registration must be completed in person.

This obligation is not applicable for children under age of 15 or for persons on diplomatic missions

Registration is not required, if you stay in an accommodation facilities such as hotel, hostel, etc.

 

Documents required for the registration:

  • Passport or ID card
  • Proof of health insurance
  • Proof of accommodation

Citizens of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland have similar rights as EU citizens.

EU citizens’ family members are family members of citizens of the above-listed countries, such as husband, wife or civil partner, children, parents, grandparents or any other family members specified by law.
